Dear WOW Science Camp families,

We hope and pray that your family is faring well during this time of change and new normals. Like you, we are taking one day at a time. We have been preparing for our 27th summer of WOW! Science Camp and counting the days to see your children again!

We will follow the Covid safety protocols that have been successfully used by both Children of the Woodlands Preschool and The Woodlands Methodist School since last fall. Almost all of our teachers are currently teaching in classrooms, so they are well versed in keeping children safe and healthy! We will have to reduce our class sizes, so mark your calendars for March 1st to claim spots for your children!

and bring to camp

Before Science Camp, we ask that you:
• Increase practice of social distancing before VBS when possible.
• Avoid large crowds or gatherings when possible.
• Limit unnecessary travel if possible.
• When unable to social distance, wear a mask per CDC recommendations.

We are heightening our Health Screening process.
We ask that you:

• Complete this COVID-19 Health Screening Form (Click Here)  Campers will be required to bring this form with them on Opening Day.
• Teachers and staff will be screened daily using a computerized system.
• We will maintain open communication with our families if a person at camp has a test-confirmed case of COVID-19 (no names will be released).
• If your child is showing any of the following symptoms they may not participate – cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, loss of taste of smell, diarrhea, feeling feverish or temp greater than or equal to 100 degrees. Your child may not attend if they have been in close contact with someone who is lab confirmed tested positive for COVID-19.

Drop-off and Pick-up
• Parents will stay in cars for the entire drop-off and pick-up process each day.
• Health screening, including temperature checks of participants upon arrival.

Physical Distancing and Masks
• Campers will be with the same class all week long and will not mix with other classes.
• Class sizes will be reduced.
• Face masks are required for grades 1-4, teachers, volunteers, and staff except during snack time and during outdoor activities where we can control distancing of 6-feet apart.
• Younger children ages 3 through kindergarten are encouraged to wear their masks while in attendance, but it is not required.

Equipment, Supplies, and Church Facilities
• Science Camp will enforce routine cleaning and heightened disinfecting of all supplies and equipment.
• Hand sanitizer stations are set up around the church.

Many of our teachers have been with us 15-20 years; they adore your kids and look forward to camp each summer. We missed our science campers so much last summer and can’t wait to see them again!
