WOW! Junior Volunteer Program

If you are a kid who is looking for an incredibly rewarding way to spend a week or even two weeks of your summer, then the WOW! Science Camp Junior Volunteer Program is the place to look!

Junior Volunteers are the backbone of WOW! Science Camp. If you have completed 5th grade, have a great attitude, are RESPONSIBLE, RELIABLE, AND ENERGETIC, and want to make great new friends while growing through your service to God, then let us hear from you!

WOW!ScienceCampJuniorVolunteers:
• handle and assist in the care of the WOW! Science Camp animals for one rotation during the week
•assist your assigned teachers or session coordinator in and out of the classroom
•greet the campers when they enter and exit camp
•set up games and experiments
•participate in a camp Bible study
• prepare camp materials in the workroom

You may apply to be a Junior Volunteer by following these 3 steps:

  1.  Complete the Registration Packet Found Here in its entirety and mail all together to my attention (Lisa Veach) at The Woodlands United Methodist Church by May 1st.
  2. Once all packets have been received, Junior Volunteers will be selected based on character, recommendations and past performance as a JV (if applicable).  Those selected will then receive a link by May 15th to register online.  Final session assignments will be sent out the first week of June.  Please print your email clearly.
  3. Be sure and get your packet in NOW!  We do anticipate having a wait list! The sooner we receive your completed registration packet the better!

We are looking forward to having a great group of Junior Volunteers this summer!

    Important JV Information
We will have 35 spots per session.  You may request more than one session. However, placement will be based on the number of registrations received. If a session fills we will place you on a wait list for that session and let you know if a spot opens up.  The cost of $35.00 to be a Junior Volunteer includes one or multiple sessions, t-shirt, and a pizza party at the end of the week.

Before applying please look at the Mandatory Junior Volunteer Orientation Meeting dates.  You must be able to attend the meeting for your assigned session.
